Pushing Against a Stone (Original Painting)
This original painting is part of Brad Antifolk's "Anarchy of the Abstract series."
It is Acrylic Paint outlined in Ink and covered in Resin on a 16" x 20" gallery wrapped canvas.
All compositions are an excuse to outline color. As a child coloring books and comic books were my first introductions to art and it was the lines that stuck with me.
The resin traps the ink in and makes the colors pop. It also allows you to TOUCH the piece. The shine and reflection makes the piece different from most angles.
Do you ever feel like you are going and going and making moves and trying to get ahead only to realize that you have been pushing against a stone the whole time. It makes it so hard. This is a summer piece.
The painting includes wire and hardware, so it is ready to hang.
Completed in June of 2020.
Remember that the resin makes it shine and that there is beauty in imperfection.
